Do you find yourself floundering along in your business, maybe making a few bucks here and there- but not the money you actually NEED to make in order to stop struggling?
I have a few rules that you must follow beginning today-
#1 Make sure you set up your online presence properly the first time around. You need a self hosted Wordpress Blog and to learn to create your own customized capture pages. If you intend to build your business professionally, you cannot start with inferior tools. You need to go pro. It will cost you about $25 bucks!
#2 Study the Master Marketers.
I have learned most of the methods I use from observing the marketing funnels of the top marketers. I study thier copy, their video style, the type of capture pages they are using – where they take me after I fill out the page… and on and on. most of what I learn, I learn from observation, not necessarily from buying courses.
Now, to clarify, I do own EVERYTHING the top marketers in my niche put out. I will never pass up an opportunity to learn from Mike Dillard or Ann Sieg. That would be stupid! Those two not only teach me a ton, they also pay me an awful lot of money every month!
#3 Learn and APPLY
You can study all day long, but if you aren’t actually creating anything, if you aren’t taking ACTION… well, you simply cannot earn. Many people fall into the trap of being a constant student. Of litening to another training, or reading another course, or doing anything at all to avoid working…
But I can tell you one thing for certain: the people who you see making the big bucks got there by taking all out massive action to reach their goals. You must do something poorly before you can get good, and good before you are great.
Bottom line is, you must DO something.
Which brings me to the subject of this post…
Even if you do a fraction of what the master marketers are doing, you will do well. Or at least better than you are right now.
So, when you see a sales page that says ” I earned 25k this month with XYZ” think to yourself… well, I’d be happy to make $2500, just 1/10th of that. Or even, an extra $250 to start.
Where are you? Who are you emulating? What have you created today? Set a goal, and accomplish it, then celebrate

Nice Post I Believe sincerely that mike is performing a well needed service and making a bundle of MONEY at the same time Personally I think hes really doing it #1 for himself and #2 I think behind the scene He truly wants to help people achieve what he has accomplished already and is genuinely concerned about stabilizing the marketing business with His type of approach. He appears as a great leader because he was determined and driven and actually became a Great Leader. He made a great plan and followed his heart took action and implemented his plan God Bless him for creating a standard Level for marketers to follow by simple ethical procedures that reap real world results!
Hi Melanie,
Very thought provoking and right on the button.
You simply have to take action – which is easier said than done – the reason being, nearly everyone will come up with several excuses not to take action. In so doing, they’re conditioning themselves not to do anything before they ever get to start.
You’re so right about doing something poorly before you can do it well – the secret is to do ’something’ and take it from there and develop it.
Andrew.
Although my article is not relevant to your topic the webinar tonight was great one more understanding in this world of internet marketing.
Hi Melanie,
I really enjoyed your webinar tonight! Every time I listen to one on your webinars I learn something new. I guess the most important thing to being successful is learning what to do and then actually doing those things.
Do you have a routine that you do everyday that keeps you on track? I find that the hardest thing for me is not getting distracted by other things online and just doing the things that are going to move me forward in my business.
Thanks for all your help!

Melanie,
Taking action has been key to moving forward in both my business marketing and practicing yoga poses.
It is too easy to get stuck in the “learning” mode and getting paralyzed for fear of making a mistake.
So, I have learned to set deadlines as a key part of my goal setting to keep the momentum moving. I also review my actions to make sure I don’t get stuck in one area. Making my actions related to Traffic, Conversion, Content, List-Building and/or Monetizing.
Then I can always review, improve and edit.

Hi Melanie,
As always, great info..You go beyond the usual fluff, and get right to the nuts and bolts of a topic. You just can’t stress it enough, to a lot of people, that it’s so critical to get past the “I’m still learning” stage and just start doing it!
BTW last night’s webinar ~ Commenting on Blogs ~ was great, another fine example of overdelivering valuable info. I took 2 pages of notes on ideas I hadn’t been aware of. Thanks!
Suzanne
Hi Mel,
Your webinar this last Tuesday was the bomb..!
The complete walk through of the steps to create quality backlinks to our blog’s that improves its Search Engine Optimization, was one of those “Ah ha..” moments for me.
You never cease to amaze me with the quality of what you teach and share with us, …that when applied, creates more traffic.
Thank you so much for all you do..!

Hi Melanie
Setting up your online presence properly the first time around is no doubt very good advice and essential. This really resonated with me. If not, we just waste so much time and energy on the ineffective things.
I like the point about taking ACTION – even if its poorly you can get good later.
Thankfully, with your direction and coaching we get the job done right, quickly as long as we take action … to get the MOOLA. With your help we get good along the way.
Cheers Kerry
Hi Melanie,
Andrew is right, you are right on the button. I have learned personally that you can get caught up in a training trap! It keeps you from moving forward for a couple of reasons, you spend almost all of your time going from one trainer to another and it is hard to focus on your course of action after being trained several different ways to build your content up.
Generally all of the big leaders train basically the same but maybe using different products or varying a little in their course of action getting from A to B, and this can be really distracting when trying to go forward. This was one of my biggest problems when trying to move forward so I limited my training to you and a couple of others that work on the same wavelength.
Awesome as always,
Sherry
Hi Melanie
Thanks for the inspirational post. Everything you say above is 100 percent true.
When I started a few months ago I would look at your websites and sites of other top marketers and simply think that I could not start unless I had sites that were comparable. I wasted a lot of time just reading and preparing until I realized you simply have to get started and build over time.
Now I have started to capture leads with my own capture pages and finally got my blog up (albeit a little late). Thanks for the excellent blog tips on the last webinar. I am applying those tips right now and can’t wait to see the results.

Great post, Melanie with awesome advice. There comes a point where every marketer needs to fire their mentor and implement what they’ve learned. It’s easy to be stuck in “student mode”, but eventually you need to sprout your own wings and fly solo.
I’ve learned a lot from you…and continue to do so. I’ll let you know when you’ve been “fired”! lol
Onward and upward,
Nancy

I want to say that in the last couple of days or so, you have come into my horribly cluttered screwed up world of internet marketing and filled in the holes that were missing!
I actually started out in 2006 during a time when I was laid off work for a few months and thought that I could just jump in and run with it and not have to worry about going back to work, then during that time I got sick and couldn’t go back to work.
Well, as you can imagine, it didn’t work out. In early 2007, I went back to work in a blow or go mode. I was fixing to loose everything if I didn’t, so If I ended up dead,,so what. The depression and stress was killing me anyway!
Well, I got better and rolled with it, and in the time being, I kept collecting material and studying this beast. I wasn’t working anything, just watching.
In July, I was laid off again, and jumped back into it with a lot more savy than before, but it didn’t take long to figure out I wasn’t there yet. I have made a “little” money, but I can tell it ain’t right! I was so bloated with all the bull shit, that I didn’t know what to do next, just did a little this and a little that and hoped it would work out.
Then, I found you a few days ago! Yesterday, I combed my mail box and unsubscribed to about everything in it from all the hot shots, cleared my desk, and have been up since 3:30 (couldn’t sleep!) going over your material. (not all of it yet, but it is only 8:45 in the morning and I got ALL day to go yet. You have filled the gaps where I had misplaced or forgot where “I had seen it stuff”, and completed my circle to where I can make a decent run at it now. I had learned that if you didn’t have all the parts in order, you were hurting your chances of success, thus my miserable results the last month and a half.
Maybe it’s because you are much easier on the eyes than Tellman or Casey and the rest of them! LOL
Just wanted to thank you!
Going to get me some breakfast, and go back to work now.

Yes Melanie!
Just doing alittle more than everyone else will set you apart. Just keep learning and doing things towards your goals that you set for yourself!

Hi Melanie, I totally can relate and understand your writing. If I would of set up my business correctly a year ago , I can see myself to be so much farther, however the path I chosen has taught me plenty and gave me that experience to show others not what to do in their business.
Thank you for all you give to others. People like you online are sure a breath of fresh air..
I hope we can connect some day.. take care

Great post, Melanie with awesome advice. Instead of creating new
products for most folks it would be better if they promote good
quality products as affiliates or CPA offers.
set up their own blogs/website to promote these.
But the big challenge is getting good quality traffic. But what
bothers me is very high failure rates . Maybe you should touch
on these in your future updates/posts.
As for me I’ve found alternative ways to make money the lazy way
with no real work. I do dabble in promoting offers online but
its an secondary source of income.
Take care
