Melanie,

I am interested in AR Plus. I have some affiliate programs through click bank. What is the better option-Aweber, Icontact, or AR Plus?

I think Mike Dillard uses Icontact-at least he promotes it.

Is this a do follow blog?

Exactly John.
I do not import purchased lists into my AR Plus- rather I was talking about importing lists generated in other systems like Magnetic Sponsoring or the Renegade System
.
But I can tell you that my deliverability on my AR Plus is WAY low compared to my Aweber. Thats why ultimately I switched to only building my list with Aweber. The only new leads that go into my AR Plus are those who subscribed to Magnetic Sponsoring or the Renegade System
and are NOT on my Aweber list already. I mail them to get them to subscribe there :)

It's always a tight balancing act: if you self-host and import bought leads, you run an increased risk of having your domain blocked by Real Time Block Lists (subscribed to by thousands of major ISPs around the world to eliminate spam). It can take MONTHS to get your domain name unblocked if you're accused of spamming by any one of those bought leads.

If you use a fully-hosted service like Aweber or GetResponse, etc, you can't usually import purchased leads in bulk -- but they have high deliverability rates.

In a nutshell, if you want to import purchased leads, you need to self-host software like AR Plus. But you have to pay serious attention to the quality of leads you purchase and how you handle your follow-ups.

I have tested both AWeber and GetResponse. I liked the AWeber interface better, but (at the time at least) GetResponse was a better $ value. I've also seen some newer ones pop up that I'd like to test, particularly an open source solution.

Again Great information, I use Aweber because it so user frendly and they are so helpful. Melanie always has the right information for everyone and has help me change my whole life. She has never given me wrong information. She is #1 for me as a trainer and mentor.

Interesting review, Melanie. I was not familiar with AutoResponderPlus, and had seen other reviews pooh-pooh self hosted software, so it is good to see a positive testimony about this. I agree with the ability to load names (at least in a number of situations) that don't require the double opt-in. I have found some value in using MailChimp.

Coincidentally, I also wrote a comparative review last summer it's on my web page here:
http://www.rgconsultingpartners.com/follow-up-autoresponders.htm

I want to tell you how much I respect and value your advice - offered in multiple places. And great lesson in itself.

Thanks

Melanie,

I just recently began to realize just how valuable the autoresponder is. I just don't think it is possible to operate successful without one.

Autoresponders are not only a huge timesaver but they keep all of your potential customers connected to what you are doing, what you are offering, and what you can do for them at any given time. They will not forget you as long as you keep making those connections and give content they can use.

I haven't tried the Autoresponder Plus but will be looking into it. An autoresponder is crucial for my business.

Thanks,
Sherry Prince
