One effective way to quickly generate subscribers to your MLM list is to use the ‘list builder’ services that are available to the online marketer. These are large lists of hundreds of thousands of active online marketers that you can send your ad to. Most of these services have a free option, but it is not valuable to you, unless you build up a downline in their system. If you go for the free option, you will be able to email as many random members as you have referrals to the list builder system. Of much more value to you is one of the paid memberships that allow you to mail to thousands of list members every couple of days. When you have access to thousands of online marketers, you have an excellent opportunity to test your ad copy. You can and should use these mailings to craft your subject lines, email copy, and squeeze page copy to see what converts best. That way, when you take your ads to other sources, like ezines, or your squeeze pages to Google Adwords, you will be working with a refined product.
Below I have compiled a list of the list builders that I currently mail to on a weekly basis. I am a paid member in all of these sites, so the results you see are for mailing to THOUSANDS of online marketers every week. I am using my MLM List Building squeeze page, which allows them to subscribe to this newsletter. This way, I am able to legally ‘steal’ the subscribers from these list builders who are looking for a way to build their MLM list. My squeeze page is highly targeted to Network Marketers who are using the same list builder services I use.
List Bandit: 25.7% optin
$197 OTO to mail 3000 random members, plus a unique number of bonus members, every 3 days. Also unique advertising to members within the site that enables you to get optins direct to your autoresponder.
This was my very first “list builder’, and I was highly skeptical at first. I was totally ‘hooked’ when I saw it took about 3 minutes to produce 15+ subscribers. Realizing I could do that every 3 days, all year long for just $197 was truly exciting. These leads are ‘opportunity buyers’, people who already want to work online. It’s just a matter of connecting with them to convert them to team members, or funded proposal buyers… easy $$$!
ViralUrl: 31.6% optin
$197 OTO to mail 3000 embers every 3 days. Also, there are unique ways to advertise to members within the site. Viral Url continues to be an extremely responsive list. I know one marketer who has 11 accounts with these guys and pulls in Thousands per week in sales!
Downline Builders Direct : 30.6% optin
$197 or $77 OTO to mail to 20,000 every 3 days. This one is actually very new, but has some unique features. #1, they allow you to mail to 500 members with a free membership. #2, a paid membership lets you mail to a full 20,000 members every 3 days!
List Auction: 13% optin
$197 to mail to 3000 every three days. Hoping this one improves a bit! The internal ad features are great- but the click rate is low, and the optin pretty low.
List Joe: 1.6% optin
$197 OTO Not worth it in my opinion. Lots of clicks, not a lot of action. Only slightly better than safelist advertising. Perhaps its worth it if you use the ‘build multiple lists’ feature where you enter the ids of several list builders you belong to and your downline signs up through your links. You can earn up to 1000 ad credits for each referral too – not too shabby.

Do the math – most of these List builders allow you to mail to 3000 or more members every 3 days for an entire year for $197. It’s like running a solo ad every 3 days, or 120 times- for $197! That’s a deal! Go for it, grow YOUR list!

Hey Melanie! This is a great post and very valuable information not only for list builder users… but also for us as owners. First off I think everyone should follow your example and be testing and tracking for results so you know what’s working and where they are getting the best ROI – awesome “lead by example”!
I know we can do better for you at The List Auction and if you have any suggestions on improvements I could put in place to boost those numbers I’m completely open to that
We do have users reporting higher rates, but of course it will vary day to day and mailing to mailing. One question I have:
The stats above – were these all taken from the same mailing, sent out on the same day to all the lists, or were these results from different periods? As many list builder users use these same top services it would be expected to see the numbers drop over time as many of the users would have already read the message and opted in through one of the other services.
I just want to make sure it’s an apples for apples comparison. I’ve just charted it on my planner to move up your list, so keep testing
On another note, I recently subscribed to your list and have really been enjoying the content you provide and the value you give to your list! Keep up the great work, I’ll be referring others to your stuff!
